  • Violent government response: Marks instances where the government used force against demonstrators.
  • Long protests (more than 3 months): Identifies sustained activism.
  • Coronavirus-related protests: Highlights demonstrations linked specifically to the pandemic.
  • Capital city: The specific capital city where the protest occurred, where applicable.
