# Opendatabay, LLM & AI Data Marketplace

> Opendatabay is an LLM & AI data marketplace platform to Buy, Sell, and Exchange Fine-Tuning Datasets.
> Buyers can discover, buy, or get matched with the right LLM and AI-ready datasets for their needs, including licensed datasets with LLM training licenses, synthetic, domain-specific, fine-tuning, and multimodal datasets. 
> Sellers can easily monetize and sell their datasets to a global audience of AI developers, researchers, enterprises, and startups training large language models, building AI applications, or performing data analysis.
> Use this as a lightweight map for AI tools. Each entry links to a page with more information about the platform, datasets, or features.

## Core concepts
- **Dataset or Data Product**: The primary object on Opendatabay. Datasets are curated data assets with metadata, licensing terms, and usage constraints, sometimes called data products or data collections.
- **Data modalities**: The types of data supported on Opendatabay, such as text, image, audio, video, code, agentic trajectories, 3D spatial data, tabular data, time-series data, human feedback data, and synthetic data.
- **Data category**: A high-level taxonomy used to organize datasets by domain and use case (e.g., AI/ML, Healthcare, Robotics).
- **Data provider**: An individual or organization that lists and monetizes datasets on the platform.
- **Data buyer**: An individual or organization that discovers, evaluates, licenses, and acquires datasets.
- **Data license**: Each dataset has an associated license, provided by data providers that defines the terms of use, restrictions, and permissions for the data. 
- **LLM training license**: Opendatabay offers commercial and general-purpose AI training licences that data providers can apply to their datasets. These licences are specifically designed to cover both data buyers and sellers for the use of data in training large language models and AI systems.
- **Delivery methods**: The ways datasets are delivered to buyers, e.g., instant download, direct URL access, license file, or downloadable data report.
- **Pricing model**: Opendatabay charges a commission on completed dataset sales. There are no upfront listing fees for data providers.
