About
Hourly weather data captures the dynamics of Dhaka City, the capital of Bangladesh. It includes metrics vital for meteorological analysis, offering insights into localized climate conditions. The hourly resolution makes it especially suitable for detailed temporal studies and time-series modeling, such as forecasting and understanding daily climate variability.
Columns
The dataset includes 11 measured variables:
- date: The calendar date when the weather observation was made.
- time: The specific time of day for the recording.
- temperature_fahrenheit: The air temperature measured in Fahrenheit degrees. Values range from 50 to 95 degrees, with a mean of 76.8.
- dew_point_fahrenheit: The dew point temperature in Fahrenheit.
- humidity_percentage: The relative humidity level, expressed as a percentage. The most common value recorded is 74%.
- wind: The direction of the wind. Observations of CALM or Southerly (S) wind are the most frequent.
- wind_speed_mph: The speed of the wind in miles per hour (MPH), generally ranging from 0 to 9 MPH.
- wind_gust_mph: The speed of wind gusts in miles per hour (this field is largely recorded as zero).
- pressure_in: The atmospheric pressure reported in inches of mercury.
- precip._in: The recorded amount of precipitation in inches (this field is largely recorded as zero).
- condition: A description of the observed weather state, with Haze being the most common condition recorded (73% of entries).
Distribution
The data is available in a standard CSV format and contains a total of 2,917 records across 11 columns. The file size is approximately 138.88 kB. The dataset's usability score is rated at 10.00.
Usage
- Time Series Analysis, especially for developing predictive models for temperature, humidity, or pressure.
- Data Visualization projects focused on climate patterns and seasonality in urban environments.
- Developing and testing Multiclass Classification models for predicting weather conditions.
- Environmental research and assessment of localized climate phenomena.
Coverage
Geographic: Dhaka City, Bangladesh.
Time Range: The observations span periods between June 2022 and June 2023, recorded at hourly intervals.
Update Frequency: The data is expected to be updated annually.
