Columns
- Country Name: The full name of the country, stored as a string. There are 266 distinct country names, all present and valid within the dataset.
- Country Code: A three-letter string code that uniquely identifies each country. There are 266 unique codes, all valid.
- year: An integer representing the year. The data ranges from 1960 to 2021, with all 16.5k entries being valid.
- GDP_USD: The total yearly GDP for a country, expressed in US dollars as a float. Approximately 80% of the entries are valid, with around 20% of entries recorded as missing. Values range from 8.82 million to 96.1 trillion.
- GDP_per_capita_USD: The GDP per capita, also in US dollars as a float. Similar to GDP_USD, about 80% of the entries are valid, with approximately 20% missing. Values range from 12.8 to 189 thousand.
Distribution
The dataset is available as a CSV file, named
world_country_gdp_usd.csv
, and has a size of 732.63 kB. It features five columns and contains approximately 16,500 records. While country name, country code, and year are always present, it should be noted that data values for GDP_USD and GDP_per_capita_USD are not available for all countries for the entire 1960-2021 period. Missing values are intentionally indicated as NaN (Not a Number).Usage
