About
Quantifies the relative walkability for every Census 2019 block group across the U.S. The index is derived from specific characteristics of the built environment that influence the likelihood of walking being used as a mode of travel. This data product is based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) previous work, the Smart Location Database (SLD), utilising four weighted variables from the SLD to create the current index. The ultimate mission associated with this data is to protect human health and the environment.
Columns (Sampled)
- OBJECTID: Unique identifier for the records.
- OBTID: Another internal record identifier.

- STATEFP: Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) code for the State.
- COUNTYFP: FIPS code for the County.
- TRACTCE: Census Tract Code component.
- BLKGRPCE: Census Block Group Code component.
