About
This collection of data provides statistics for Pokémon across all generations, offering key details for each creature. It serves as a foundational resource for understanding the characteristics and abilities of Pokémon, suitable for analysis related to their types, battle statistics, and physical attributes. The data is updated annually to reflect new information.
Columns
The dataset contains 12 distinct columns, each detailing an aspect of a Pokémon:
- name: The individual name of each Pokémon. There are 890 unique Pokémon names recorded, with 'bulbasaur' being a frequently occurring example.
- pokedex id: The official registration number for each Pokémon within the Pokédex, ranging from 1 to 890. All 890 entries are unique and valid, with a mean ID of 446.
- height: The height of the Pokémon. Heights typically range from 1 to 200, with a mean of 11.8. The majority of entries (811) fall between 1.00 and 20.90 units.
- weight: The weight of the Pokémon. Weights vary widely, from 1 to 9999, with a mean of 630. Many entries (752) are within the 1.00 to 1000.80 range.
- type: The primary elemental or characteristic type of the Pokémon. There are 18 unique types, with 'water' (14%) and 'normal' (12%) being common.
- secundary type: An optional second elemental or characteristic type. If a Pokémon does not possess a secondary type, it is listed as 'None', which accounts for 51% of entries. There are 19 unique values for this field, with 'flying' being the next most frequent at 11%.
- HP: Represents a Pokémon's Hit Points, indicating its health. Values range from 1 to 255, with an average of 68.7. The largest group of entries (379) have HP between 51.80 and 77.20.
- Attack: Measures a Pokémon's physical attack power. Values range from 5 to 181, with a mean of 76.3. Most entries (213) are found between 57.80 and 75.40.
- Defense: Indicates a Pokémon's resistance to physical attacks. Values range from 5 to 230, with a mean of 71.8. A significant portion (323 entries) have defense values between 50.00 and 72.50.
- SP Atk: Denotes the strength of a Pokémon's special attacks. Values range from 10 to 173, with an average of 69.5. The highest frequency of entries (208) is between 58.90 and 75.20.
- SP Def: Represents a Pokémon's defense against special attacks. Values range from 20 to 230, with an average of 69.9. Many entries (268) fall within the 41.00 to 62.00 range.
- Speed: Determines the order in which Pokémon attack in battle. Values range from 5 to 160, with a mean of 65.7. A notable number of entries (179) have speed values between 36.00 and 51.50.
Distribution
