Columns

  • id: The primary key for the record.
  • license_type: Specifies the classification of the barber licence held (e.g., Class A, Instructor). Class A is the most frequent type, accounting for approximately 95% of records.
  • license_number: The unique identifier assigned to the individual’s licence.
  • license_expiration_date: The date on which the licence expires. The expiry dates span from early 2021 up to September 2024.
  • first_name: The first name of the licensed individual. Over 15,000 unique first names are recorded.
  • last_name: The surname of the licensed individual. Common surnames include GARCIA and MARTINEZ.
  • county: The county of residence for the licence holder. HARRIS and DALLAS are the most commonly represented counties.
  • fips: A five-digit Federal Information Processing Standards code, uniquely identifying the county in the United States. This column is 96% valid.

Distribution

The format is tabular data, typically stored as a CSV file (texasbarbers.csv), which is 1.53 MB in size. The dataset contains 8 columns and features approximately 23,900 valid records in total. Data validation shows zero mismatched or missing values for most key fields, excluding a minor missing percentage in the FIPS column.
