About
Provides detailed insights into a city's transportation infrastructure, urban movement, and related environmental conditions. It includes various data types such as road networks, public transit routes, traffic flow metrics, commuter behaviour, and associated random weather and air quality data. This resource is engineered to enhance urban mobility analysis, support transportation planning, and serve as a testbed for developing novel transport solutions.
Columns
The dataset contains multiple tables. Based on the air quality data sample:
- node: A Node ID that represents a specific location within the road network.
- pollution_level: The measured level of air pollution at the identified location.
Distribution
The data is presented primarily in a tabular format, although road networks are represented as graphs, including nodes (intersections) and edges (road segments). It incorporates historical traffic data and includes features such as fare data, passenger load information, and origin-destination matrices. The dataset is global in scope. The update frequency is expected to be annually. The sample file shows 100 valid entries for location nodes and pollution levels.
Usage
This data product is ideally used for analysing and visualising complex urban transportation patterns. It enables researchers, planners, and developers to develop predictive models, such as those anticipating traffic congestion. It is suitable for exploring innovative solutions for urban mobility challenges, testing algorithms, and identifying congestion hotspots and peak hours using real-time and historical flow information.
Coverage
The focus is the representation of a city's transportation system. Coverage includes detailed attributes for road segments, such as length and speed limits, as well as public transportation schedules for bus routes and subway/metro lines. Temporal coverage includes realistic departure and arrival times, factoring in peak hours and congestion, and historical traffic patterns over different time periods. Environmental factors, including random weather and air quality, are linked to various locations and times. The data is tagged as Global.
