Columns

The data is structured into four primary fields:
  • song_id: An identifier that links to the primary track record found in the related tracks CSV file.
  • artist_id: The unique identification number assigned to the artist by Billboard.
  • artist: The name of the credited artist. This field contains 7,894 unique names, with "Drake" being the most frequently appearing artist, accounting for 1% of the total records.
  • ordinal: A one-based index indicating the exact sequence in which the artist was listed for the track, useful for determining lead versus supporting roles.

Distribution

The data is supplied as a CSV file, named billboard-hot-100-credited-artists.csv, with a file size of 11.19 MB. The dataset contains 386,000 valid records. Crucially, all four columns maintain perfect data integrity, showing 100% validity with zero missing or mismatched values. The data is expected to be updated on a monthly basis.
