Columns
The data is structured into four primary fields:
- song_id: An identifier that links to the primary track record found in the related tracks CSV file.
- artist_id: The unique identification number assigned to the artist by Billboard.
- artist: The name of the credited artist. This field contains 7,894 unique names, with "Drake" being the most frequently appearing artist, accounting for 1% of the total records.
- ordinal: A one-based index indicating the exact sequence in which the artist was listed for the track, useful for determining lead versus supporting roles.
Distribution
The data is supplied as a CSV file, named
