About

Daily weather attributes recorded over a decade, from 2009 to July 2020. This dataset provides a detailed log of various meteorological measurements, ideal for time series analysis and regression modelling. The data captures a wide range of weather phenomena through numerous variables, including temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and wind speeds.

Columns

  • Date: The date of the observation.
  • Average temperature (°F): The average daily temperature in Fahrenheit.
  • Average humidity (%): The average daily humidity as a percentage.
  • Average dewpoint (°F): The average daily dew point in Fahrenheit.
  • Average barometer (in): The average daily barometric pressure in inches of mercury.
  • Average windspeed (mph): The average daily wind speed in miles per hour.
  • Average gustspeed (mph): The average daily gust speed in miles per hour.
  • Average direction (°deg): The average daily wind direction in degrees.
  • Rainfall for month (in): The cumulative rainfall for the month up to that date, in inches.
  • Rainfall for year (in): The cumulative rainfall for the year up to that date, in inches.
  • Maximum rain per minute: The maximum rainfall recorded per minute.
  • Maximum temperature (°F): The maximum daily temperature in Fahrenheit.
  • Minimum temperature (°F): The minimum daily temperature in Fahrenheit.
  • Maximum humidity (%): The maximum daily humidity as a percentage.
  • Minimum humidity (%): The minimum daily humidity as a percentage.
  • Maximum pressure: The maximum daily barometric pressure.
  • Minimum pressure: The minimum daily barometric pressure.
  • Maximum windspeed (mph): The maximum daily wind speed in miles per hour.
  • Maximum gust speed (mph): The maximum daily gust speed in miles per hour.
  • Maximum heat index (°F): The maximum daily heat index in Fahrenheit.
  • Date1: An additional date column.
  • Month: The month of the observation.
  • diff_pressure: The difference between the maximum and minimum pressure readings.

Distribution

The dataset is provided as a single CSV file named climate_data.csv with a size of 550.21 kB. It contains 3,902 records and 23 columns, with no missing or mismatched data.

Usage

This data is well-suited for building predictive models for weather forecasting, analysing long-term climate trends, and exploring relationships between different weather variables. It can be used for time series analysis, regression tasks, and other machine learning applications focused on meteorology.

Coverage

The dataset covers a time range from 1 January 2009 to 28 July 2020. The geographical scope is Estespark.
