Columns

  • Name: The individual name of each Pokémon. This column has 905 unique values and is 100% valid. For instance, 'Bulbasaur' is a common entry.
  • Pokedex number: The unique entry number of the Pokémon within the National Pokédex, ranging from 1 to 905. All 905 entries are valid.
  • Type1: The primary elemental type of the Pokémon. 'Water' is the most common primary type, accounting for 14% of entries. There are 18 unique primary types.
  • Type2: The secondary elemental type of the Pokémon, if applicable. Approximately 50% of Pokémon in the dataset do not have a secondary type. 'Flying' is the most common secondary type among those with one, making up 11% of such entries. There are 18 unique secondary types.
  • Classification: The classification of the Pokémon as described in the Sun and Moon Pokédex. There are 650 unique classifications, with 'Dragon Pokémon' being a common example.
  • Height(m): The average height of the Pokémon, measured in metres. Heights range from 0.1m to 20m, with an average height of 1.19m.
  • Weight(kg): The average weight of the Pokémon, measured in kilograms. Weights range from 0.1kg to 1000kg, with an average weight of 64.3kg.
  • Abilities: A list of special abilities that the Pokémon can utilise. There are 546 unique abilities in the dataset, with 'Levitate' being the most common, appearing in 3% of entries.
  • Generation: The specific generation in which the Pokémon was first introduced. This ranges from 1 to 8, with an average generation number of 4.18.
  • Legendary Status: A Boolean indicator denoting whether the Pokémon is considered legendary. 81 Pokémon (9%) in the dataset are legendary, while 824 (91%) are not.

Distribution

The dataset is provided in a CSV file format (pokemon_data_pokeapi.csv), with a file size of 73.72 kB. It contains 905 records (rows) and is structured across 10 distinct columns, offering details for each Pokémon from the first eight generations.
