The Female Chilean Artists Network Analysis provides critical insights into the connections and characteristics of the network established by prominent Chilean female artists. This data product was developed in collaboration with Professor Julieta Bravo to facilitate critical commentary and study within the arts. The underlying data was meticulously extracted by hand from historical documents and group analyses.

Columns

The dataset features 18 columns structured to identify artists and their relational ties.
  • Nombre_Artista: Identifies the specific female artist under examination. The dataset contains 25 distinct artists, including figures such as Concepcion Balmes, Jose Balmes, and Gracia Barrios.
  • Relacionado_1 through Relacionado_17: These 17 fields were designed to document connections the artist maintained, such as relationships with parents, grandparents, colleagues, or teachers.

Distribution

This data is presented in a tabular format, contained within the CSV file Red_Artistas_Chile.csv. The file size is small, measuring 3.39 kB. The data set currently includes records for 25 unique artists. The data has a high usability rating of 10.00 and is intended for annual updates.
