About

The Netflix Life Impact Dataset (NLID) is a carefully assembled collection of over 80 transformative films, designed to explore how cinematic experiences create lasting emotional, intellectual, and behavioural impressions on audiences. It goes beyond typical movie analytics by highlighting the human impact of storytelling, demonstrating how specific scenes can spark introspection, alter perspectives, or motivate action. This dataset bridges cinema studies, psychology, and data science, making it a valuable resource for understanding art's influence on human behaviour. It addresses a gap in existing movie datasets that often overlook the profound resonance and unforgettable qualities of certain stories. The dataset aims to capture those universal yet deeply personal moments that act as catalysts for change. Data was gathered and verified through streaming platforms, audience feedback from various review sites, and critical analyses, with a particular focus on identifying "life-changing minutes" and the meaningful advice derived from them. It blends quantitative metrics with qualitative depth, offering a unique perspective on film's impact.
