About
The Global Food Security Index (GFSI), designed and constructed by Economist Impact and supported by Corteva Agriscience, provides a rigorous evaluation of food security across 113 countries. This 11th edition model considers year-on-year changes in structural factors impacting the global food supply. The data enables an in-depth exploration of the challenges and solutions surrounding food security by measuring four key pillars: affordability, availability, quality and safety, and sustainability and adaptation. The index serves as a quantitative tool to assess national capacities to disseminate food, vulnerability to price shocks, and exposure to climate-related risks.
