About

Presents official Netflix viewership statistics, tracking global and country-specific Top 10 lists for films and television programmes. Titles are ranked based on ‘views’, which are calculated as total hours watched divided by the total runtime, rounded to the nearest 100,000. This collection provides weekly insights into worldwide streaming popularity across nearly 100 countries and territories. Titles often move in and out of the Top 10, and the data tracks the total number of weeks a title or season has spent on the list. For context, lists published prior to June 20, 2023, were ranked by total hours viewed rather than the ‘views’ metric.

Columns

  • country_name: The full name of the country where the ranking applies (e.g., Argentina).
  • country_iso2: The two-letter ISO code corresponding to the country name (e.g., AR).
  • week: The datetime range reflecting the weekly reporting period (Monday to Sunday).
  • category: Defines the content type, differentiating between films and TV programmes.
  • weekly_rank: The position the title achieved within the weekly Top 10 list (values range from 1 to 10).
  • show_title: The main title of the series or film, such as 'Stranger Things'.
  • season_title: Specific title of the season, relevant primarily for TV series. This field often appears as N/A for films.
  • cumulative_weeks_in_top_10: The running total of weeks the specific title or season has remained on the Top 10 list in that region.
