The dataset also identifies optimal dream teams for each match, complete with captain and vice-captain selections derived from statistical analysis and fantasy scoring metrics.
Columns
- match_id: A unique numeric identifier for each match, used to link records to specific matches.
- season: The year the match was played, providing seasonal context.
- match_name: A string representing the teams involved in the match, for example, "GT v CSK".
- home_team: The team that hosted the match based on the location.
- away_team: The visiting team that played against the host.
- venue: The name and location of the stadium where the match took place.
- bowling_team: The team that was bowling during the innings for which the record is logged.
- batting_team: The team to which the batsman belongs, crucial for aggregating team batting performance.
- batting_innings: A numeric field indicating whether the record is from the 1st or 2nd innings of the match.
- fullName: The full name of the batsman, allowing for individual performance tracking across matches and seasons.
- batting_position: The player's position in the batting order, important for analysing performance relative to batting position.
- runs: The total runs scored by the batsman in their innings.
- balls: The number of balls faced by the batsman, used to calculate the strike rate.
- fours: The total number of four-run boundaries hit by the batsman.
- sixes: The total number of sixes hit by the batsman during their innings.
- strike_rate: The batting strike rate, calculated as (runs scored / balls faced) * 100, which assesses a batsman's efficiency and aggressiveness.
- Batting_FP: Fantasy points earned by the batsman based on performance metrics like runs, strike rate, fours, and sixes.
Distribution
The data is organised into separate CSV files for easy access and manipulation:
Match_details.csv, Batting_data.csv, Bowling_data.csv, Fielding_data.csv, and Final_Fantasy_data.csv. The Batting_data.csv file has a size of 1.76 MB and contains 17 columns.Usage
