About

Air alerts in Ukraine serve as a critical warning system regarding aerial threats following the full-scale invasion which began on 24 February 2022. The data tracks the specific timing and duration of air raid sirens across various administrative divisions (oblasts) within the country. Sourced daily, these records provide a granular timeline of alerts starting from 25 February 2022, capturing both confirmed alert durations and instances where termination signals were not received, thereby necessitating estimated finish times.

Columns

  • region: The specific administrative division (oblast) of Ukraine where the alert was issued; names are recorded in Ukrainian.
  • started_at: The timestamp marking the initiation of the air alert, recorded in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
  • finished_at: The timestamp marking the conclusion of the air alert, recorded in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
  • naive: A boolean value indicating the accuracy of the finish time. 'True' indicates no official finish signal was received (duration estimated as start time + 30 minutes), while 'False' indicates an accurate, signal-based finish time.
