About
This dataset contains the Happiness Score for 146 countries, along with factors used to explain these scores. It is derived from the World Happiness Report 2022, which marks its tenth anniversary by evaluating how individuals assess their own lives in over 150 countries globally. The report highlights an increase in social support and benevolence observed during the pandemic, alongside the pain and suffering. The scores are based on individuals' responses to the single-item Cantril ladder life-evaluation question. Key indicators, such as GDP per capita and healthy life expectancy, are used alongside more intangible aspects gathered from survey responses, including social support, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and perceptions of government/business corruption. The Dystopia value of 1.83 represents the predicted Cantril ladder score for a hypothetical country experiencing the world's lowest values across the six primary variables.
