Columns

The dataset contains 13 fields primarily covering user metadata and tweet content:
  • user_name: The account name of the user who posted the tweet.
  • user_location: The location specified by the user in their profile. Note that 38% of records have missing location data, but notable locations like the Islamic Republic of Iran are present.
  • user_description: The self-written description from the user's profile.
  • user_created: The date the user account was created, spanning from 2008-08-20 up to 2021-11-20.
  • user_followers: The total number of followers the user had.
  • user_friends: The total number of accounts the user is following.
  • user_favourites: The number of tweets the user has favourited.
  • user_verified: A boolean indicator showing whether the user is a verified account (very few are verified).
  • date: The specific date and time the tweet was posted, heavily concentrated around 19 and 20 November 2021 in this sample.
  • text: The full content of the tweet, including mentions and embedded hashtags.
  • hashtags: A list of hashtags included in the tweet.
  • source: The platform or application used to post the tweet, such as 'Twitter for Android' or 'Twitter for iPhone'.
  • is_retweet: A boolean indicator; this sample shows no records are retweets.

Distribution

The data file, named ENDviolence_tweets.csv, is available in CSV format and totals 3.12 MB. It contains 10,000 records across 13 distinct fields. The expected update frequency for this dataset is quarterly.
