Columns

  • year: The year of the record.
  • birth_total: The total number of live births.
  • birth_male: The total number of male births.

  • birth_rate: The birth rate, calculated as (birth_total / population_total) * 1,000.
  • birth_gender_ratio: The ratio of male to female births, calculated as (birth_male / birth_female) * 1,000.

Distribution

The dataset is provided as a single CSV file (japan_birth.csv) containing 124 records (rows) and 51 columns. Please note that several columns contain missing values, particularly for the years 1944-1946 and in variables related to birth order and parental age.
