About

This dataset provides detailed information for almost 300 weapons available within The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, including those introduced in DLCs. Skyrim is an action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main instalment in The Elder Scrolls series, released worldwide on 11 November 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. This collection is ideal for analysing in-game mechanics and weapon statistics.

Columns

The dataset contains 9 columns, each describing a specific attribute of the weapons:
  • Name: The unique name of the weapon, such as 'Gauldur Blackbow' or 'Nightingale Bow'.
  • Damage: The base damage output of the weapon, a numerical value typically ranging from 0 to 28, with an average of 13.
  • Weight: The weight of the weapon, influencing player encumbrance, with values generally between 0 and 36, averaging 12.6.
  • Gold (Price): The base gold value of the weapon, ranging from 0 to 4275, with an average price of 521.
  • Upgrade (Upgrade Material): Indicates the material required to enhance the weapon, such as 'Steel Ingot'. Some entries may be missing this information.
  • Perk: The specific smithing perk required to craft or improve the weapon, for example, 'Steel'. Some entries may not have a listed perk.
  • Type: Categorises the weapon by its design, such as 'Sword' or 'Bow'. Swords are the most common type.
  • Category: Defines the primary skill used with the weapon, such as 'One-Handed' or 'Archery'. One-Handed weapons are the most frequently occurring.
  • Speed: A numerical value indicating the attack speed, exclusive to Bow weapon types. Values typically range from 0.5 to 1.0, with an average of 0.77. This information is only present for bows.

Distribution

The dataset is provided as a Skyrim_Weapons.csv file, with a size of 18.52 kB. It contains 293 individual records, representing various weapons, structured across 9 distinct columns. Data files are typically provided in CSV format.
