The dataset also includes residuals, which represent the unexplained components of life evaluations, indicating how much the six variables either over- or under-explain the average 2016-2018 life evaluations for each country.
Columns
- Country (region): The name of the country. This column has 156 unique values, all of which are valid.
- Ladder: This column represents the Cantril Ladder, a direct measure of life satisfaction.
- SD of Ladder: The standard deviation of the Cantril Ladder scores.
- Positive affect: A measure indicating the level of positive emotion within a country.
- Negative affect: A measure indicating the level of negative emotion within a country.
- Social support: Quantifies the contribution of social support to the calculated Happiness Score.
- Freedom: Quantifies the contribution of perceived freedom to the calculated Happiness Score.
- Corruption: Quantifies the contribution of the perception of corruption to the Happiness Score.
- Generosity: Quantifies the contribution of generosity to the calculated Happiness Score.

- Healthy life expectancy: Quantifies the contribution of life expectancy to the calculated Happiness Score.
