About

Contains 2,095 questionnaire responses from a study on the engagement and job fit of salespeople within a retail telecom chain. The data is based on the KPMI methodology, a modified version of the MBTI, which is an introspective self-report questionnaire used to indicate different psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. This data can be used to build models that predict the level of a respondent's engagement and predisposition to work as a salesperson.

Columns

  • q1-q60: Answers to the 60 KPMI methodology questions. A value of '1' indicates the first answer was chosen, and '2' indicates the second.
  • q61: Answer to "How much do you like what you are doing at work now?". Responses are coded as 100 ("Very like"), 34 ("Rather like it"), -33 ("Rather don't like it"), or -100 ("Do not like").
  • q62: Answer to "I would recommend our Company as a good place to work to my friends and acquaintances.". This is an NPS-style question with values ranging from -100 ("Would definitely NOT recommend") to 100 ("Would definitely recommend").
  • q63: Answer to "My work gives me a sense of fulfillment.". Responses are coded as 100 ("Yes"), 50 ("Rather yes"), 0 ("Difficult to answer"), -50 ("Rather no"), or -100 ("No").
  • position: The respondent's job position. A value of '1' represents a Point of sales manager, and '2' represents a Specialist.
  • time: The time in seconds the respondent spent completing the questionnaire.

Distribution

The primary data is provided in a single CSV file named retail_chain_salespeople_engagement.csv. It contains 2,095 records. A supplementary JSON file, questionnaire_schema.json, is also included, which details the text for each of the 63 questions and their corresponding answers.

Usage

This dataset is ideal for developing predictive models to assess employee engagement and job suitability in a retail sales environment. It can be used for classification tasks, psychological research, and analysis of factors contributing to job satisfaction and employee retention.

Coverage

The data is from a research study on salespeople within a chain of retail stores. The sources do not specify the geographic location, the time period during which the data was collected, or the demographic scope of the respondents.
