Columns
- coin: The full name of the cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin), recorded as a string. There are 500 unique coin names.
- symbol: The abbreviated symbol for the cryptocurrency (e.g., BTC for Bitcoin), recorded as a string. There are 497 unique symbols.
- price: The latest trading price of the cryptocurrency in USD, represented as a float. Prices range from £0.19 to £41,200.
- 1h: The percentage change in the cryptocurrency's price over the last 1 hour, stored as a float. Values range from -0.04% to 0.09%.
- 24h: The percentage change in the cryptocurrency's price over the last 24 hours, stored as a float. Values range from -0.14% to 0.57%.
- 7d: The percentage change in the cryptocurrency's price over the last 7 days, stored as a float. Values range from -0.55% to 2.94%.
- 24h_volume: The total trading volume for the cryptocurrency in the last 24 hours, represented as a float. Volumes range from £0 to £57.9 billion.
- mkt_cap: The overall market capitalisation of the cryptocurrency, stored as a float. Market caps range from £65.8 million to £771 billion.
- date: The date when the data entry was recorded, formatted as a date. All current entries are from 16 March 2022.
Distribution
This dataset is provided in CSV file format, with example files named
coin_gecko_2022-03-16.csv and coin_gecko_2022-03-17.csv. Each file contains 9 columns and approximately 500 records.Usage
