About
Data details all medical facilities available to assist in the fight against COVID-19 across India. The public healthcare system in the country has evolved over the past 70 years, influenced partly by the colonial period. Given the massive need for an effective public health system in India, this material aims to help national planning efforts. The ultimate goal is to analyze specific locations in India that require immediate development of emergency medical facilities and overall infrastructure improvement, particularly as the nation seeks to preempt the intense outbreaks seen in countries like Italy and Spain.

geocode_health_centre.csv, with a size of 17.32 MB. The dataset includes 200,000 valid records across the 11 columns. Data quality is excellent, with all key locational attributes showing 100% validity and zero missing records. Updates are expected monthly.Usage
This resource is ideally suited for spatial analysis and resource allocation planning. It can be used to analyze and understand geographical gaps in the Indian public health system, particularly in response to potential outbreaks. Analysts can map the distribution of facilities (Sub-Centres, PHCs) to determine where emergency medical development is most urgently needed.
Coverage
The geographic scope covers all states and districts across India. The data details all types of medical facilities, including bed counts and different types of health centres (NIN's, PHC's), spanning rural to urban locations. The facilities recorded are entirely within the Public sector.
