Contains detailed demographic, geographic, and severity information for all confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases reported and managed by Toronto Public Health. The information covers cases from the beginning of the pandemic in January 2020, including both community-based (sporadic) and outbreak-associated incidents. Data is aggregated from the provincial communicable disease reporting system (iPHIS) and Toronto's custom COVID-19 case management system (CORES). Note that the data is dynamic and subject to change due to ongoing public health investigations and continuous quality improvements.
Columns
- _id: A unique identifier for each row.
- Outbreak Associated: Indicates if the case is linked to an outbreak in a healthcare or congregate setting.
- Age Group: The age of the individual at the time of illness, categorised into groups (e.g., ≤19, 20-29, 90+).
- Neighbourhood Name: The specific Toronto neighbourhood (out of 140) associated with the case.
- FSA: The Forward Sortation Area, representing the first three characters of the case's postal code.
- Source of Infection: The most likely way the individual acquired the infection (e.g., travel, close contact, community).
- Classification: Categorisation of the case as either 'CONFIRMED' or 'PROBABLE'.
- Episode Date: The earliest date associated with the case, derived from symptom onset, lab specimen collection, or report date.
- Reported Date: The date the case was officially reported to Toronto Public Health.
- Client Gender: The self-reported gender of the individual.
- Outcome: The final outcome of the case, classified as 'FATAL', 'RESOLVED', or 'ACTIVE'.
- Currently Hospitalized: A boolean value indicating if the individual is currently admitted to a hospital.
- Currently in ICU: A boolean value indicating if the individual is currently in an Intensive Care Unit.
- Currently Intubated: A boolean value indicating if the individual is currently intubated.
- Ever Hospitalized: A boolean value indicating if the individual was ever hospitalized due to their COVID-19 infection.
- Ever in ICU: A boolean value indicating if the individual was ever admitted to an ICU for their COVID-19 infection.
- Ever Intubated: A boolean value indicating if the individual was ever intubated for their COVID-19 infection.
