Distribution

The dataset is provided as a single CSV file, covid_data.csv, with a size of 102.89 MB. It contains 429,000 records across 67 columns.

Usage

This dataset is ideal for time-series analysis, exploratory data analysis, and creating visualisations to track the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic. It can be used to compare the impact and response to the virus across different countries and continents. The data supports analysis of relationships between health metrics (cases, deaths) and socio-economic factors (GDP, population density).

Coverage

The dataset offers global coverage, including data for 255 unique geographical locations and 6 continents. The time range of the observations spans from 1 January 2020 to 14 August 2024. Note that many columns, particularly those related to testing, vaccinations, and hospitalisations, contain a significant number of missing values.
