Columns
The
covid19_italy_province.csv
file contains the following columns:- SNo: A serial number for each record.
- Date: The date and time of the notification, formatted as YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS (ISO 8601). The data spans from 25th February 2020 to 6th December 2020.
- Country: The country of reference, identified by its ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 code, which is consistently 'ITA' for Italy.
- RegionCode: The official ISTAT 2019 code for the region.
- RegionName: The name of the Italian region, such as Lombardia or Toscana. There are 21 unique regions represented.
- ProvinceCode: The code for the specific province.
- ProvinceName: The name of the province. This may include entries like 'In fase di definizione/aggiornamento' or 'Fuori Regione / Provincia Autonoma'. There are 109 unique provinces.
- ProvinceAbbreviation: The two-letter abbreviation for the province. Approximately 24% of entries in this column are null.
- Latitude: The geographical latitude coordinate for the province. Approximately 24% of entries are missing.
- Longitude: The geographical longitude coordinate for the province. Approximately 24% of entries are missing.
- TotalPositiveCases: The total recorded amount of positive COVID-19 cases. Values range from 0 to approximately 159,000.
Distribution
The dataset is provided in CSV file format. It comprises two files:
covid19_italy_province.csv
, which is approximately 3.45 MB and contains province-level data, and covid_italy_region.csv
, which provides region-level data. The covid19_italy_province.csv
