For undergraduates, the data is disaggregated by attendance status (full- and part-time) and whether they are seeking a degree/certificate. The degree-seeking category is further broken down into first-time, transfer-in, and continuing students. This structure is particularly useful for analysing enrolment at institutions with non-traditional calendars or short-term programmes. Each record is uniquely identified by the institution's IPEDS ID and the student level, containing headcount totals for men and women across nine race/ethnicity categories.
