This dataset provides an archive of Donald J. Trump's Twitter insults from June 2015 to January 2021. It documents the verbal attacks he posted on Twitter, starting from his declaration of candidacy in June 2015 until his permanent ban from the platform. The collection highlights how a prominent political figure utilised social media to express scorn and establish his version of events. It is based on an analysis of his tweets, with retweets explicitly excluded. Please note that some names may be omitted, and titles or public roles of insulted individuals may have changed since the dataset was first published in 2016.

Columns

  • S.No.: A numerical identifier for each entry, ranging from 1 to 10,360.
  • date: The specific date and time when the tweet was posted. The dates span from October 2014 to January 2021, with the majority of content within the 2015-2021 period.
  • target: Identifies the target audience or group of the insult, such as 'the-media' or 'democrats'. There are 867 unique targets recorded across approximately 10,400 entries.
  • insult: The particular insult or derogatory term captured within the tweet, for example, 'Fake News' or 'Crooked'. There are 6,729 unique insults documented across approximately 10,400 entries.
  • tweet: The full text of the original tweet containing the insult. This column contains 5,673 unique tweet entries across approximately 10,400 entries.
